THE FRIENDS OF

CANNIZARO PARK

Wimbledon's Finest Garden

New leaflets go like hot cakes

NEW Friends of Cannizaro Park membership leaflets are being widely distributed as the group seeks to build on this year's successful improvements to the gardens. Copies are available in dispenser boxes at the Main Entrance and beside the Aviary.

Replantings of the Main Entrance and Dutch Garden earlier this year have partially restored the park's quality after a period of decline and the Friends are currently planning a new programme of activities to keep up the positive momentum.

The new life membership scheme is also proving increasingly successful as supporters opt for single donations of £100 or more in place of the £5 annual subscription, unchanged since the group's foundation 12 years ago.

See Summer News below for more updates on what has been happening at Cannizaro Park.

The Friends of Cannizaro Park Mission is:

1.    To ensure continuation of Cannizaro Park in its present status as a Grade II* listed garden.

2.    To support the London Borough of Merton in maintaining the park in the best possible condition and providing the best possible security - both day and night.

3.    To encourage a balance between the needs and wishes of those who enjoy the park in a variety of ways consistent with its protected status.

4.    To protect the park's flora and fauna and encourage responsibility in their appreciation and enjoyment.
