Spring 2010 launch for Cannizaro book

The full story behind Cannizaro Park and its 300 years of fascinating history will be revealed this spring in Tony Matthews' new book to be published by the Wimbledon Society Museum of Local History, supported by the Friends of Cannizaro Park. Publication was due in 2009 but has been postponed for a few months to allow the addition of extra material. The wait will be worthwhile - that's a promise!

The Friends of Cannizaro Park Mission is:

1.    To ensure continuation of Cannizaro Park in its present status as a Grade II* English Heritage registered garden.

2.    To support the London Borough of Merton in maintaining the park in the best possible condition and providing the best possible security - day and night.

3.    To encourage a balance between the needs and wishes of those who enjoy the park in a variety of ways consistent with its protected status.

4.    To protect the park's flora and fauna and encourage responsibility in their appreciation and enjoyment.

(Mission amended in 2008 to four core objectives)
