FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sensational Six Cent Chamber Maze
Summer 2005
THE Sensational Six Cent Chamber Maze came to the Italian Garden on Sunday 17 July, showing how schools across London had expressed sight, sound, scent, touch and taste at creative workshops. The Brighton-based Same Sky artist company constructed a maze within a marquee containing interactive artworks to see, smell, feel and hear, with taste represented by plates of simulated food. Each workshop had taken one sense as a theme and used a variety of materials to express it, with story telling, discussion, drawing and eventually physical production of shapes and displays. The result was a maze of colour, texture, humour and comment.
Among the displays were "fake fossils", illustrating what some futuristic archaeologist might find to represent life as seen today.
Same Sky runs participatory arts objects involving people of all ages in production of large-scale outdoor events such as the light show in Cottenham Park three years ago.
