FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Survey shows some facts about Spring 2007
AROUND a fifth of registered Friends of Cannizaro Park have responded so far to an opinion survey sent to more than 500 members earlier this year. Although replies are still coming in, the results to date shed a clear light on members’ preferences about subscription arrangements and how news about Cannizaro should be communicated. While a growing number of members use email and would like to receive the Newsletter electronically, the overwhelming majority rated the existing publication highly and wanted it to continue. Most respondents either already paid subscriptions by standing order or were prepared to do so if provided with forms. Those members who used the Friends’ web site all rated it highly except for the park’s location map at Where Is It? This has now been replaced with the aerial view showing part of the park. Fourteen members offered to become more active in helping Friends activities and are being contacted. The survey will be invaluable in helping to maintain our membership records. It also shows how important are those members who volunteer to deliver Newsletter copies in streets near to their homes to save on expensive postage. Until the majority indicate a preference for email the Newsletter will continue to be printed as normal. However the web site offers much quicker access to all the news on Cannizaro Park for those who use it. If you have not already responded, do please send your views to us at Willow House or email the chairman, giving your name and contact details. The more replies received, the stronger our voice will be with Merton Council in protecting the park for the future. |
